In yesterday's Idaho Statesman Saturday May 14, I wrote a Readers View. It listed all of the organizations I have been a member, board member, or officer of since returning to Boise, Idaho in 1976. You'll see that in several cases I have been with organizations for years. There wasn't enough room within the limitation of 400 words to expand on the various roles I held in each organization, but suffice it to say I was active in all of them.
With the exception of Dr. Stephenson Youngerman the other candidates running for the Greater Boise Auditorium District Board don't even come close to the commitment I have made to my community, most of which has been on a volunteer basis. As any volunteer will tell you if you are involved in an organization to any extent you give your time, money, and energy.
I noted after I had sent the list in to the Idaho Statesman that I had left some of the organizations off of the list...Fundsy, and United Way to name a couple.
The truth of the matter is I love serving my community, in any capacity. I was taught by my parents to "give back"
I hope the public will allow me to serve on the GBAD Board and give back once again. Vote May 17th, Judy Peavey-Derr.

Boise Exchange Club
Boise....Boise Exchange Club held its weekly meeting at Perkins at noon on Friday. Stephenson Youngerman and Judy Peavey-Derr made a presentation about the upcoming Greater Boise Auditorium District Board race. The presentation received many questions regarding the boundaries, candidates, length of term in office, and the issues. We had a great reception and want to thank the Boise Exchange Club for their interest in the subject and their concern about the future of downtown Boise.
Signs are Up
Boise....Sunday, Mother's Day completed our signs being put up in the Greater Boise Auditorium District. You can see us everywhere. Thank you to the many volunteers for their excellent help. Throughout the upcoming remaining days before the election I will be making presentations to Rotary and the Boise Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce as well as the Idaho Statesman.
Stay tuned.
